The GCSE Composition Course Teachers Book

The Project Books (EP 7680a – d) contain everything a student needs to embark on the work – five projects designed to be completed within a half-term period. Each is set out like a recipe book with descriptions of how to complete the process, and carefully limited choices within which to exercise creativity.

The Teachers Book contains:

• an outline of the content of each project book
• introductions and checklist remindersfor each project
• back-up guides to supervising and completing the projects
• selection of 'kick-start' ideas: short, quick exercises to get composing activities up andrunning or to investigate certain technical aspects of music
• integrated listening, performing and improvising activities
• notes on ancillary activities: evaluation, working to a brief and keeping a log
• teaching-point guidance and suggestions for classroom and project management
