Sally Beamish’s Sonata for viola and piano is a 20-minute piece which develops themes from an earlier work, Clara, based on the life of Clara Schumann, by using recurring motifs across all four movements and exploring them in different ways.
It was commissioned by Haddington Music Club and premiered by Gillian Haddow (viola) and Peter Evans (piano) on 30 March 2002 at the Town House, Haddington.
This product (EP 72997) comprises the score and viola part.
