Roderick Williams Signs with Edition Peters
Edition Peters is delighted to announce the signing of a new publishing agreement with Roderick Williams. This marks the start of a new relationship that will focus initially on Williams’s outstanding catalogue of choral music. Internationally renowned as a baritone vocal soloist, Williams has always composed alongside his performing activities. His affinity for the voice, his poetic sensitivity and his directly communicative style has led his music to be increasingly in demand across the world. He has been performed at the Wigmore Hall, the Barbican, the South Bank Centre and on BBC Radio 3 and his work is regularly requested from the world’s leading performers. World Without End, celebrating the centenary of the Royal Air Force, was co-commissioned by the RIAS Kammerchor and the BBC Singers while Now winter nights was written for VOCES8. In 2017 Williams was awarded an OBE for services to music.
This January Edition Peters will release an initial eight choral works by Williams: Ave maris stella for choir SATB and Piano, Ave Verum Corpus Re-imagined for three SATB choirs, Christmas Bells for choir SATB and Piano, Exultate for choir SATB with saxophone and percussion, Love bade me welcome for choir SATB, Now winter nights for choir SSAATTBB, O Saviour of the world for choir SSATB, and Queen Elizabeth’s Winchester Carol for choir SATB.
Commenting on the new publishing agreement, Williams said:
“I’m hugely excited to be joining the distinguished list of composers published by Edition Peters. To be part of their celebrated choral catalogue is an honour for me and I look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration.”
Kathryn Knight, President of C.F. Peters Corp. New York said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Roderick Williams into the Edition Peters family of composers. His music is so expertly written for voices, and so appealing and touching to both audiences and singers, that it was essential for us to include his music in our great choral list when the opportunity presented itself. We look forward to a bright and productive relationship in the years ahead.”
