Uwe Henkhaus (b.1958) is a research associate at the Hesse Music Archive based at the University of Marburg. He has worked with choirs of all genres and styles since 1973; from 1981 to 2004, he was Musical Director of the European Youth Weeks at Burg Ludwigstein. He has been a member of the Music Committee of the Hesse Singers’ Association since 1997 and has taught at the School of Choral Conducting in Marburg since 2006. Uwe Henkhaus has edited numerous works for piano and choir and is active as a music journalist, author and choral composer. Amongst other composition prizes, he was awarded the 1987 Otto Ubbelohde Prize and the 2012 Paul Hindemith and Heinrich Mann Scholarship for Composition.
